KUALA LUMPUR: Recalling the last concert he had in Malaysia, Hong Kong superstar Jacky Cheung said: “I will never forget that moment.”

He had performed before 50,000 passionate fans in 2002 and was overwhelmed by the response.

“I have fond memories of the concert, when I was on stage looking at 50,000 passionate fans,” he told a press conference here on Wednesday.

The singer is back to promote his upcoming concert in September, which is part of his The Year of Jacky Cheung world tour.

He is also in town to promote his latest Mandarin album, By Your Side.

After the press conference, he dropped by at the 988 radio station for a live interview and then attended a meet-the-fans showcase at Sungei Wang Plaza.

With a career spanning more than 20 years, Cheung is touted to be one of the “Heavenly Kings” of Cantopop (along with Andy Lau, Leon Lai and Aaron Kwok).

He is most famous for his mega-hits like Kiss Goodbye, Amour, and I Still Think You’re The Best.

Although Cheung had performed here in the 2005 musical Snow.Wolf.Lake, the upcoming concert will be his first solo performance in Malaysia since 2002.
