AFTER a month of football craze, Malaysians can now look forward for yet another event as internationally renowned rock band INXS will be performing in Kuala Lumpur for the first time as part of its INXS Switched On World Tour Live.

“We are excited that Celcom will be presenting yet another powerful entertainment programme that will have all Malaysian rock enthusiasts buzzing,” said Celcom marketing vice president Zalman Aefendy during the press conference to mark Celcom as the official presenter for the concert.

Since Michael Hutchence died, the remaining INXS members looked for someone to fill his shoes.

It was until last year that they found Canadian JD Fortune from the reality show Rockstar INXS where the 33-year-old beat 14 others be part of the band.

INXS will be showcasing a selection of their old hits with a sizzling blend of new hits from their most recent album Switch in the two-hour concert on Aug 18.

The album is the group’s first new release in eight years and is the first without Hutchence who died tragically in 1997.

In conjunction with the concert, Celcom customers will be entitled to a 35% discount on ticket prices for seats in the Silver and Gold arena purchased before end of this month.

Besides that, customers can also download INXS mobile contents such as live streaming of INXS videos, ring tones, wallpapers, full song downloads and call me tones.

The concert is organised by Galaxy Productions and presented by Celcom.

Also present at the event were Galaxy Group managing director Alan Chan and Hilton Kuala Lumpur general manager Paul Hutton.
