Charity drive by popular brands hit the right note Two popular brands donated RM50,000 to five homes in the Klang Valley and the amount was mainly due to the contributions of its customers. For every sale of Munchy's Lexus limited edition pack, 20sen was contributed to charity whereas 30sen was contributed for every Super Charcoal Roasted Ipoh White Coffee limited edition promotion packets sold. Munchy's Group chief executive officer C.K Tan said consumers who bought the products were also given the chance to win 320 free Super Band concert tickets worth RM128 each. "My brothers and i grew up listening to the legendary singers who formed the Super Band recently. "We are also glad for this opportunity to give back something to the people,"Tan said at a special event organised to hand over the donation. He added that the donation would go a long way in helping the Human Child Air Society Sabah, Rumah Ozaman, Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation, Pertubuhan Perkhidmatan Intervensi Awal ( Batu Pahat ) and Rumah Hope. Super Coffeemix Managing Ltd had contributed half of the amount and its director, Steven K.H. Lim, said seeing Super Bnad perform live was a dream come true. Formed in July, the legendary mandopop group consists of four members namely godfather of pop Lo Ta-yu, music producer Jonathan Lee Tsung Sheng, veteran singer Wakin Chau who was formerly known as Emil Chow and singer-songwriter A-Yue ( Chang Chen-yue). |
